Device Simulator with CSV Data
Redesign of the IoT Platform Device Simulator creating a seamless integration with the IoT platform Connection and Analytics Services.
IoT Edge Design
Preview 2 is the first available beta for the new Watson IoT Platform Edge capabilities. This article describes the design objectives and the user experience design for this preview version of IoT Edge.
Device Activity Policy Design
The Device Activity Policy design in the Watson IoT platform enables users to define the messaging intervals of healthy devices and track compliance to such Risk and Security Policy settings
Help Hub Design
The Help Hub design provides a simple on-boarding experience for new users of the IoT platform. The design creates a seamless learning experience, guiding users and allowing them to form a mental model of the IoT platform and its resources.
Simulated Devices Design
The Device Simulator design in Watson IoT Platform enables developers to build and test the IoT applications without deploying physical devices beforehand.
Compliance Reporting Design
The Compliance Reporting design in the Watson IoT platform enables users to drill into the current state and history of devices to investigate root-cause of compliance to Risk and Security Policy settings.
Information Management Design
Watson IoT Platform Information Management capabilities help simplify application development by decoupling them from the complexities of how specific devices across a set of device types are specified and connected. The information model provides abstractions that keep applications insulated from data change and the structure of how devices are interconnected into things.
Risk and Security Management Design
The Watson IoT Platform Risk and Security Management provides an overview to compliance on policies and risks so that security administrators and operations personnel can quickly understand the security posture of their IoT deployment according to policies that they have configured within the Platform.
Access Control Design
Access Control is part of operational security and provides control and management of roles that define the permissions of actions on the resources in the Watson IoT Platform. Access Control design has resulted in five different predefined roles for Users, six different predefined roles for Applications and two different predefined roles for Gateways.
Custom Device Management Design
Custom Device Management Commands design in the IBM Watson IoT Platform provides a new capability to extend the platform and support additional actions in addition to the standard Download Firmware, Update Firmware, Reboot and Factory Reset. The new design defines a file in Json format called a device management extension package that is loaded into the platform, either through the API or from the settings page of the Platform dashboard.
